Conditions and factors influencing the educational process and fulfilment of the potential of twice-exceptional students

Abstract:

Rigorózní práce se zabývá problematikou faktorů a podmínek, které ovlivňují vzdělávání a naplňování potenciálu u žáků s dvojí výjimečností. Práce je členěna do tří teoretických a dvou empirických kapitol. První kapitola vymezuje základní teoretická a terminologická východiska, pojednává o inkluzivním vzdělávání v mezinárodním kontextu a zaměřuje se na současné trendy ve vzdělávání v Českém prostředí. Druhá kapitola se zabývá inkluzivním vzdělávání se zaměřením na žáky se specifickými poruchami učení. Kromě legislativního rámce vzdělávání obsahuje také vymezení, klasifikaci a diagnostiku specifických poruch učení a zaměřuje se také na strategie podpory této skupiny žáků. Stěžejním tématem třetí kapitoly jsou podmínky vzdělávání žáků s kombinací intelektového nadání a specifických poruch učení. Kapitola obsahuje definici, typologii a diagnostiku nadání a pojednává také o možnostech edukace žáků s nadáním. Dále vymezuje dvojí výjimečnost a specifika vzdělávání žáků s kombinací intelektového nadání a specifických poruch učení. Empirická část práce prezentuje výsledky realizovaného výzkumného šetření, kterého cílem byla analýza faktorů a podmínek, které mají vliv na vzdělávání a naplňování potenciálu u žáků s dvojí výjimečností. Čtvrtá kapitola vymezuje cíle výzkumného šetření, užitou metodologii, charakteristiku výzkumného vzorku a také způsob realizace výzkumného šetření. Kapitola obsahuje také analýzu a interpretaci výzkumného šetření. V páté kapitole je pak uvedeno vyhodnocení dílčích výzkumných otázek a v hlavní výzkumné otázky, na které navazuje diskuse výzkumných závěrů a doporučení pro speciálně pedagogickou praxi.

Abstract:

The presented rigorous thesis deals with the issue of conditions and factors that influence the educational process and fulfilment of the potential of twice-exceptional students with combination of intellectual giftedness and specific learning disabilities. Rigorous thesis consists of three theoretical and two empirical chapters. In the first chapter, theoretical and terminological bases related to chosen topic are included. Inclusive education in international context and current educational trends in Czech environment are also discussed. The second chapter focuses on inclusive education of students with specific learning disabilities. The chapter includes the legislative framework of education of students with special educational needs, definition, classification, and assessment of specific learning disabilities, as well as the possibilities concerning education and support of these students. The third chapter is focused on the education of students with combination of intellectual giftedness and specific learning disabilities. In this chapter, the definition, typology, assessment of giftedness, and the educational possibilities concerning gifted students are contained. The definition of twice-exceptionality and the specifics of education of intellectually gifted students with specific learning disabilities are further discussed. In the empirical part of the rigorous thesis, results of conducted qualitative research, focused on the analysis of conditions and factors influencing the education and fulfilment of the potential of twice-exceptional students are presented. The fourth chapter describes the main research objective, used methodology, characteristics of the research sample and the realization of conducted research. The analysis and interpretation of research findings are also included. In the fifth chapter, the evaluation of partial research questions and the main research question are presented and followed by a discussion of research findings and the recommendations for the special pedagogical practice.
