Senior clients in social work

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje sociální práci se seniory. V teoretické části diplomové práce je poskytnut zejména interdisciplinární pohled na problematiku stárnutí a stáří a syntéza poznatků gerontologie, vývojové psychologie, psychologie nemoci, sociální práce a sociální politiky, které mají vztah k problematice stáří a klientům staršího věku. Výzkumná část diplomové práce se zabývá spokojeností uživatelů sociálních služeb v domovech pro seniory s poskytovanými sociálními službami, s personálem zařízení a s prostředím v zařízení. Dále byly zjišťovány potřeby seniorů a jejich subjektivně pociťovaná míra saturace.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with social work with senior clients. Its theoretical part provides, in particular, an interdisciplinary view of the issue of the ageing process and old age, and a synthesis of findings from gerontology, developmental psychology, psychology of illness, social work and social policy related to the issue of old age and elderly clients. The research part of the thesis explores the satisfaction rate of the people taking advantage of the social services in rest homes where social services are provided, as well as the staff and environment in a given institution. Furthermore, senior citizens´ needs and subjective level of saturation were determined
