Perception and use of artificial intelligence in education from the perspective of students and teachers

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá percepcí a využitím umělé inteligence (AI) ve vzdělávání z pohledu žáků a učitelů na Základní škole Mařádkova v Opavě. Teoretická část představuje základní koncepty AI, její historický vývoj a aktuální trendy ve využívání AI ve vzdělávání. Důraz je kladen na analýzu nejčastěji používaných nástrojů a na zavedení digitálních kompetencí, které jsou nyní součástí rámcových vzdělávacích programů v České republice. Praktická část se opírá o data získaná prostřednictvím dotazníků mezi žáky a učiteli. Výsledky ukazují, že většina žáků má určité povědomí o AI, ale jejich znalosti a zkušenosti se různí. Učitelé obecně vnímají AI pozitivně a vidí její potenciál pro zlepšení efektivity a personalizace výuky, ačkoli čelí výzvám spojeným s technologickou infrastrukturou a nedostatkem školení. Studie přináší cenné poznatky pro budoucí výzkum a praxi, přičemž je zdůrazněna potřeba neustálého vzdělávání a adaptace na rychle se měnící digitální svět.

Abstract:

This thesis explores the perception and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education from the perspectives of students and teachers at Mařádkova Primary School in Opava. The theoretical part introduces the basic concepts of AI, its historical development, and current trends in the use of AI in education. Emphasis is placed on analyzing the most commonly used tools and the implementation of digital competencies, which are now part of the framework educational programs in the Czech Republic. The practical part relies on data obtained through questionnaires among students and teachers. The results show that most students have some awareness of AI, but their knowledge and experience vary. Teachers generally perceive AI positively and see its potential for improving the efficiency and personalization of teaching, although they face challenges related to technological infrastructure and a lack of training. The study provides valuable insights for future research and practice, emphasizing the need for continuous education and adaptation to the rapidly changing digital world.
