Czech Translations of Byzantine Literature: development, approaches, trends
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce poskytuje přehled českých překladů byzantské literatury a přibližuje čtenáři trendy ve výběru děl pro překlad a použité překladatelské postupy. Soustředí se hlavně na překlady od začátku 20. století a důraz je kladen na jejich historický kontext. V práci je popsán i začátek české byzantologie a jsou uvedeny medailonky významných překladatelů s ukázkami z jejich překladů.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis provides an overview of Czech translations of Byzantine literature and introduces the reader to trends in selecting the works for translation and the used translation methods. It focuses mainly on translations since the beginning of the 20th century and the emphasis is put on their historical context.
