DMO's performance evaluation with use of the 3E principle

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou výkonnosti v cestovním ruchu, konkrétně měřením výkonnosti organizace destinačního managementu v České republice. Měření výkonnosti bylo řešeno pomocí indikátorů. V této souvislosti byly analyzovány existující indikátory světových a evropských organizací. Výsledkem analýzy bylo zjištěno, že jen malé množství indikátorů je v podmínkách České republiky reálně měřitelných kvůli nedostupnosti dat, a navíc jen malá část se věnuje organizaci destinačního managementu. Proto byly indikátory doplněny ukazateli marketingovými podle výzkumné společnosti Kantar TNS Info Research Austria (2012) a vytvoření systému indikátorů bylo řešeno metodou 3E autorů Cheng a kol. (2009). Ověření použitelnosti navrženého systému bylo provedeno vyhodnocením vybraných indikátorů a řízeným rozhovorem s managementem reálné organizace destinačního managementu Moravian-Silesian Tourism, s.r.o.

Abstract:

This master’s dissertation deals with the problem of DMO's performance evaluation in conditions of Czech Republic. The measurment was done with use of indicators, therefore the analysis of official accesible indicators of international and national organizations in the field of tourism was done. The result of this analysis showed, that only small procentage of indicators are usable in conditions of Czech Republic because of the lack of accessible data. Also there is a bigger focus on the measurment of destination performance, rather than DMO’s performance by the official institutions. Therefore marketing indicators of the research organization Kantar TNS Info Research Austria (2012) were used as well. The final system of indicators was developed according to the 3E method of the authors Cheng, and others (2009). The practicability of suggested system of indicators was tested by evaluation of some indicators as well as by structured interview with a manager from the organization of destination management Moravian-Silesian Tourism, s.r.o.
