Design and realization of management reporting for HR on the example of Vema HR system

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku reportingu vycházejícího z dat z oblasti řízení lidských zdrojů. Hlavním cílem práce je navrhnout a následně zrealizovat manažerský reporting jako nadstavbu HR systému Vema za použití analytického nástroje Microsoft Power BI. Východiskem práce je vymezení tématu HR analytiky a přehled typických analytických úloh z oblasti řízení lidských zdrojů. Následně jsou představeny principy reportingu a reportingové potřeby v rámci HR. Práce také definuje omezení nakládání s osobními daty a shrnuje GDPR a bezpečnostní požadavky, které je třeba dodržovat při práci s údaji o zaměstnancích. Dále je představen HR systém Vema a jsou popsána data, která se do tohoto systému nejen o zaměstnancích ukládají a která jsou následně k dispozici pro splnění hlavního cíle práce. Představen je také analytický nástroj Power BI, který je použit pro realizaci výsledných reportů. Jsou popsány dostupné funkcionality nástroje, kterých může být při realizaci cíle práce využito. Poslední části práce jsou věnovány realizaci cíle práce. Zahrnují návrh reportů, které je možné nad dostupnými daty demo verze systému Vema vytvořit s ohledem na funkcionality nástroje Power BI. Je popsán proces transformace dat a v závěru je prezentován výsledek realizace manažerského reportingu společně s doporučením pro využívání a s řešením problémů okolo ochrany osobních údajů.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the issue of reporting based on data from the field of human resources management. The main goal of this thesis is to design and realize management reporting on the example of Vema HR system with use of Microsoft analytical tool Power BI. In the first chapters, the reader is theoretically acquainted with HR analytics and typical analytical tasks from the field of human resource management. Subsequently, the principles of reporting are introduced with reporting needs within HR area. This thesis also defines the restrictions on working with personal data and summarizes the GDPR and security limitations. Furthermore, Vema HR system is introduced and the data that are available in this system and that are available to meet the main goal of the thesis are described. The analytical tool Power BI that is used for creating the resulting reports is also presented. There are described main functionalities of the tool which can be used in order to meet the main goal of this thesis. In the last parts of the thesis the goal is approached by first making concepts of final reports which can be created with the available data from Vema system with regard to the listed functions of the Power BI tool. Then, the work with data transformation is described and after that the final result of management reporting is presented together with recommendations for using them and with problems around personal data protection that the creators of such reports needs to bear in mind.
