The modes of using the parental benefit in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá rodičovským příspěvkem jako dávkou státní sociální podpory a způsoby jejího čerpání a dalšími aspekty s jejím čerpáním souvisejícími. Rodičovský příspěvek je jeden z nástrojů umožňující skloubit práci a rodinu. Cílem této práce je odpovědět na otázku: Jak se formují strategie rodičů při výběru způsobu čerpání rodičovského příspěvku v ČR? V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy týkající se čerpání rodičovského příspěvku jako rodinná politika, možnosti čerpání příspěvku, harmonizace pracovního a rodinného života, preference, teorie racionální volby, vlivy na rozhodování rodičů a kulturní podmínky. V důsledku stanovení hlavních pojmů byly formulovány dílčí výzkumné otázky. Výzkum byl proveden kvalitativní výzkumnou metodou pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Výsledky výzkumu jsou interpretovány v empirické části, mají ukázat, jak jsou naplňovány představy a požadavky rodičů na způsob čerpání rodičovského příspěvku, možnosti péče o děti a možnosti participace na trhu práce a co ovlivňuje jejich strategie. Odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku je formulována v závěru práce.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the parental benefit as a benefit of state social benefit and modes of its using and other related aspects. The parental benefit belongs among work-life arrangements. The aim of the thesis is to answer the main research question: How are formed the parents strategies of choice using parental benefit in the Czech Republic? The theoretical part describes basic terms which are related to using parental benefit such as family policy, possibilities of using the parental benefit, harmonization of employment and family, preferences, theory of rational choice, impacts to parental decision making and cultural conditions. The research questions are formulated depending on the basic terms. The applied research method is a qualitative half-structured interview. The results are interpreted in empirical part of the thesis. It should demonstrate how are satisfied parental notions and requirements of using parental benefit, possibilities of childcare and working life and how are parents strategies formed. The concluding part covers the answer to the main research question.
