Comparison of Restaurant Business Plans in the Cities of Prague and Bishkek

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the differences in business strategies and performance between two sushi restaurant businesses - Sushi Jo in Prague and Sushi Room in Bishkek. Despite these setbacks, both restaurants saw increasing customer numbers, revenue, and net margins. Therefore, the aim of the thesis is to evaluate the performance of the two companies and come up with the series of recommendations on how to enhance their mechanism in the nearest future. However, Sushi Jo demonstrated greater financial flexibility, avoiding net losses, whereas Sushi Room faced quarterly deficits. External factors influence the businesses differently. Political stability benefits Sushi Jo but challenges Sushi Room. Economic growth and low poverty rates favor both, but labor shortages and inflation pose risks. Social factors such as aging populations impact Sushi Jo, while cultural diversity aids its success. Finally, technology fosters Sushi Jo’s expansion but offers limited advantages for Sushi Room. The thesis further explores strategic recommendations for both businesses. The main result of the analysis is the conclusion that despite differences in the environments, the sushi restaurants face similar challenges and follow a more or less similar model of business development.
