Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit vztahy mezi platy brankářů v NHL pro sezónu 2022/2023 a jednotlivými ukazateli úspěšností jak brankářů, tak celých organizací. Dále pak navrhnout optimální rozložení platů pro dosažení nejlepších sportovních výkonů. Sběr dat byl proveden pomocí obsahové analýzy sekundárních dat internetových portálů, jako je NHL.cz a Eliteprospect.com. Pro určení vztahů byla použita korelační analýza ověřená jednoduchým dvouvýběrovým T-testem a predikci vývoje platových stropů dalších sezon v NHL byla použita jednoduchá lineární regrese. Byly odhaleny významné rozdíly v platech brankářů v NHL, které se pohybují od 1 milionu dolarů až po více než 10 milionů dolarů ročně. Analýza naznačuje, že platy brankářů jsou silně spojeny s výkonností týmu, přičemž vyšší platy mohou být spojeny s vyšším počtem vítězství. Kromě toho existuje pozitivní korelace mezi platy a počtem odchytaných minut brankářů, což ukazuje na důležitost těchto hráčů pro týmy. Na základě nejúspěšnějších týmů by optimální rozdělení finančních prostředků mezi jednotlivé posty mělo být takové, kdy útočníci získávají 59,3 % z rozpočtu, obránci 33,7 % a brankáři 7 %.

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to evaluate the relationships between NHL goaltender salaries for the 2022/2023 season and individual goaltender and organizational success rates. Furthermore, to propose the optimal salary distribution for achieving the best sport performance. Data collection was conducted using content analysis of secondary data from internet portals such as NHL.com and Eliteprospect.com. Correlation analysis validated by a simple two-sample T-test was used to determine relationships, and simple linear regression was used to predict the development of salary caps for future NHL seasons. Significant differences in NHL goaltender salaries were found, ranging from $1 million to more than $10 million per year. The analysis suggests that goaltender salaries are strongly associated with team performance, with higher salaries potentially associated with more wins. In addition, there is a positive correlation between salaries and the number of minutes played by goalies, indicating the importance of these players to teams. Based on the most successful teams, the optimal distribution of funds between the various positions should be such that forwards receive 59.30% of the budget, defenders 33.70% and goalkeepers 7.00%.
