A Choice of Power Source for an Automobile by using Methods of Operations Research

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je aplikace metod vícekriteriálního hodnocení variant pro srovnání druhů pohonu osobního automobilu. Kromě klasických pohonných hmot, benzínu a nafty, byly do srovnání zahrnuty také nejrozšířenější alternativní pohony – plyn LPG, plyn CNG, elektrický pohon a plug-in hybrid. Práce obsahuje přehled těchto pohonů s jejich charakteristikami a teoretický popis vybraných metod vícekriteriálního hodnocení variant. Pohony jsou v této práci hodnoceny nejprve přes jeden konkrétní automobil – Golf od výrobce Volkswagen, následně jsou srovnány přes zástupce představujícího průměrný automobil dostupný na českém trhu v dané kategorii. Důležitou součástí je také analýza nákladů s cílem nalézt pohon minimalizující celkové výdaje s ním spojené. Na závěr jsou veškeré dosažené výsledky srovnány a je doporučen nejlepší druh pohonu spolu s určením výsledného pořadí.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to draw a comparison of different types of automobile engine energy by using multiple-criteria decision making methods. There are common types of energy – diesel oil and petrol, as well as alternative types of energy covered – LPG gas, CNG gas, electric engine and plug-in hybrid. The thesis contains an overview of these types of energy with their characteristics and a theoretical description of selected multiple-criteria decision making methods. First, the types of energy are evaluated within a specific automobile – Golf manufactured by Volkswagen company. Next, the evaluation is done within automobiles representing an average of vehicles of given category, available on automotive market in the Czech Republic. Cost analysis is an important part – to find an energy by minimizing total expenses of that type of engine. In the end, all results are compared, the best alternative is recommended and the final ranking is established.
