Relationship of preschool children to animals

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je úzce spjatá s environmentální výchovou. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jaký mají děti v předškolním věku vztah k živočichům a zdali jde změnit jejich vztah a postoj k méně oblíbeným živočichům za pomoci dotazníkového šetření a didaktického výstupu i s ukázkou živých zvířat. Dotazník se skládá ze dvou částí. V první části jsou kladené otázky zaměřeny na zjišťování pohlaví, vlastnictví zvířete a zahrady, jestli respondenti rádi navštěvují přírodu a jestli mají strach ze zvířat. Druhá část dotazníkového šetření je složena z obrázků čtrnácti živočichů, u kterých respondenti na škále 1 - 3 udávají libost/nelibost. Hodnocení živočichů je přizpůsobeno věkovým možnostem respondentů. Výsledky dotazníkového šetření jsou analyticky porovnávány a diskutovány. Pro tuto analýzu bylo zvoleno osm dílčích otázek rozebírajících vazby dětí předškolního věku k živočichům.

Abstract:

This bachaleor thesis is closely related to the enviromental education. The main purpose is to find out what the stance of preschool children to animals is and whether the rapport, as well as their attitude, to less popular ones can be influenced. Methods allowing the observation which are used in the thesis are a survey and a didactic presentation together with introducing live animals to children. The questionary consists of two parts. The first part is about the respondents. Its aim is to capture basic information such as sex, age, possesion of some animal and a garden. Then if they enjoy going to nature and at last their fears of animals. The other part of the survey contains fourteen pictures of different animals. All respondents rate them on a scale 1 - 3 according to their attitude towards those fourteen subjects. The way of rating has been tailored to the age of the respondents. Results of the survey have been compared and discussed analytically. Eight partial questions examining relations between preschoolers and animals have been chosen for this analysis. Eventually, each answer for these questions has been discussed again.
