Investment-linked life insurance in the Czech Republic compared with selected country

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na problematiku investičního životního pojištění v České republice a Rakousku. Cílem práce je zhodnotit pojistné trhy s investičním životním pojištěním obou zemí, určit jejich odlišnosti a společné znaky a poté stanovit pro jaký typ klienta je toto pojištění vhodné. V první části práce je popsána struktura a fungování investičního životního pojištění. Analytická část obsahuje vybrané makroekonomické ukazatele, kterými je hrubý domácí produkt, míra inflace, průměrná mzda a počet obyvatel, dále pojistné ukazatele, kterými jsou zejména počet subjektů působících na trhu, koncentrace pojistného trhu, předepsané pojistné, densita a penetrace. Investiční životní pojištění je hodnoceno na základě podílu na předepsaném pojistném v životním pojištění, vývojem předepsaného pojisného, počtem uzavřených smluv a počtem vyřízených pojistných událostí. Součástí analýzy je také porovnání tohoto produktu u dvou vybraných pojišťoven. Poslední část je věnována konečným zjištěním a závěrům.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the issues of investment-linked life insurance in the Czech Republic and Austria. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate insurance markets with investment-linked life insurance in both countries, determine their differences and common features and then determine for which type of client this insurance is suitable. In the first part of the thesis, the structure and functioning of investment life insurance is described. The analytical part of the thesis contains selected macroeconomic indicators such as gross domestic product, inflation rate, average wage and population, and insurance indicators, which are mainly the number of subject influencing the market, insurance market concentration, premiums written, density and penetration. Investment-linked life insurance is assessed on the basis of the share of the premiums written in life insurance, the development of the premium written, the number of contracts concluded and the number of claims settled. Part of the analysis is also a comparison of products in two selected insurance companies. The last part is about the final findings and summarization.
