Offer of activation programs in residential and out-patient forms of social services for the elderly as an instrument to reduce the risk of social exclusion

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o aktivizačních programech nabízených v pobytových a ambulantních sociálních službách pro seniory z hlediska jejich potenciálu snižovat riziko sociálního vyloučení seniorů. Práce vychází z předpokladu, že sociální služba by měla jako celek napomáhat k sociálnímu začleňování jedince a být prevencí jeho sociálního vyloučení. Výzkum byl veden v kvalitativní strategii a byly zvoleny tři metody sběru dat – rozhovory s pracovníky podílejícími se na aktivizaci, pozorování a analýza dokumentů. Z výsledku práce vyplývá, že aktivizační programy ve vybraných organizacích napomáhají ke zmírňování sociálního vyloučení klientů-seniorů, a to především v překonání sociální izolace jedince, posilování a udržování jeho schopností a v kontaktu se společností.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the activation programs offered in residential and outpatient social services for the eldery in terms of their potential to reduce the risk of social exclusion of the eldery. The work is based on the assumption that social service as a whole should assist the social inclusion of individuals and be a prevention of their social exclusion. The research was conducted in a qualitative strategy and three methods of data collection were chosen - interviews with staff participating in the activation, observation and analysis of documents. The result of the work shows that the activation programs in selected organizations help reduce the social exclusion of the clients - older people, especially in overcoming the social isolation of individuals, strengthening and maintaining their abilities and in contact with the society.
