A Child with Disabilities in Foster Care

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu náhradní rodinné výchovy a je zaměřena na problematiku dětí se zdravotním postižením a rodin, které tyto děti přijaly do své péče. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy související s náhradní rodinnou výchovou, je zde vysvětlen její význam, charakterizovány jednotlivé formy a současné legislativní zabezpečení v ČR. Jelikož se práce orientuje na děti s postižením, jsou zde definovány také pojmy týkající se zdravotního postižení, charakterizovány vybrané druhy postižení a jejich vliv na vývoj a chování dítěte. V teoretické části je zmíněna také problematika, která s náhradní rodinnou výchovou souvisí - specifické projevy dětí a motivace a očekávání náhradních rodičů. Praktická část vychází z kvalitativně orientovaného průzkumu, jehož cílem je zjištění názorů, postojů a zkušeností lidí, kteří přijali do náhradní rodinné výchovy dítě s postižením. Pro získání potřebných údajů byla využita kombinace individuálního hloubkového rozhovoru a ohniskové skupiny. Součástí praktické části jsou rovněž kazuistické studie šesti dětí se zdravotním postižením, které byly umístěny do některé z forem náhradní rodinné výchovy.

Abstract:

My thesis deals with the topic of foster care and focuses on the issue of children with disabilities and families who have taken this children into their care. In the theory part the basic terms related to foster care are defined, its meaning is explained, its particular forms are characterized and current legislative provision in the Czech Republic. Whereas this writing focuses on children with disabilities, the particular forms of disabilities are defined as well as selected types of disabilities and their impact on kid?s development and behaviour. In the theory part there is also mentioned the issue which is related to foster care ? specific kid?s behaviour and motivation and expectation of foster parents. The practical part comes out of qualitative orientated survey with the aim to identify the point of view, attitudes and experiences of people, who have gotten the disabled children to foster care. To collect required information, the combination of individual deep interview and focus group has been used. A part of the thesis are kazuistic studies of six children with disabilities, who were placed into the particular form of foster care.
