Impact of financial crisis on central bank monetary policy

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the monetary policy of selected central banks during the financial crisis. In the theoretical part we discuss the issue of monetary policy in general, we define the objectives, instruments and different rules. Executors of monetary policy, the individual central banks. In the analytical part of the work we have chosen three powerful central banks that characterize briefly. It is the European Central Bank, the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England. For them, we have tried to show their behavior in the global financial markets during the crisis, which has recently hit the global financial market. We pointed out the measures within the framework of monetary policy apply. In the practical part, following the steps of the analysis undertaken of selected central banks in the financial crisis, we have characterized some of their suggestions and recommendations made in the context of monetary policy apply.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca je zameraná na menovú politiku vybraných centrálnych bánk v čase finančnej krízy. V teoretickej časti práce rozoberáme problematiku menovej politiky vo všeobecnosti, definujeme jej hlavné ciele, nástroje a jednotlivé pravidlá. Vykonávateľmi menovej politiky sú jednotlivé centrálne banky. V analytickej časti práce sme si vybrali tri silné centrálne banky, ktoré krátko charakterizujeme. Je to Európska centrálna banka, Federálny rezervný systém a Bank of England. Na nich sme sa snažili ukázať ich správanie sa na svetovom finančnom trhu v čase krízy, ktorá v posledných rokoch zasiahla svetový finančný trh. Poukázali sme na opatrenia, ktoré v rámci výkonu menovej politiky uplatňujú. V praktickej časti práce, v nadväznosti na vykonanú analýzu krokov vybraných centrálnych bánk v čase finančnej krízy, sme charakterizovali ich niektoré návrhy a odporúčania, ktoré v rámci výkonu menovej politiky uplatňujú.
