The increased cultural diversity in the USA has influenced the way Christmas is celebrated, with the incorporation of customs and traditions from various ethnic groups.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis examines the influence of cultural diversity on Christmas celebrations in the USA. The study provides an overview of the historical and cultural Christmas celebrations in the US and examines the evolution of the holiday over time. The work examines specific examples of customs and traditions from German, Mexican, Scandinavian, African-American, and Jewish cultures that have become part of traditional American Christmas celebrations. The study also examines the impact of cultural diversity on the meaning of Christmas in American culture, including changes in the commercialization of the holiday and its impact on interfaith families. By analyzing the incorporation of cultural diversity into American Christmas celebrations, this thesis aims to gain a good understanding of how cultural diversity organizes holidays and their celebrations and highlights the importance of cultural exchange.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá vliv kulturní diverzity na vánoční oslavy v USA. Studie poskytuje přehled o historickém a kulturním kontextu vánočních oslav v USA a zkoumá vývoj svátků v čase. Práce zkoumá konkrétní příklady zvyků a tradic z německé, mexické, skandinávské, afroamerické a židovské kultury, které se staly součástí tradičních amerických vánočních oslav. Studie také zkoumá dopad kulturní rozmanitosti na význam Vánoc v americké kultuře, včetně změn v komercializaci svátků a jejich vlivu na mezináboženské rodiny. Analýzou začlenění kulturní rozmanitosti do amerických vánočních oslav si tato práce klade za cíl poskytnout hlubší pochopení způsobů, jak kulturní rozmanitost utváří svátky a jejich oslavy a zdůrazňuje význam kulturní výměny.
