Communication competence of a pupil with an autistic spectrum disorder

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá komunikačními kompetencemi žáka s poruchou autistického spektra. Teoretická část práce shrnuje základní informace o poruchách autistického spektra, představuje jejich definici, etiologii, diagnostiku, klinické symptomy a popisuje různé typy těchto poruch. Další část se zaměřuje na komunikaci, definici a funkci komunikace, na motivaci ke komunikaci, na zvláštnosti komunikace dětí s poruchami autistického spektra a na specifika komunikace osob s poruchami autistického spektra. Dále ukazuje možnosti vzdělávání těchto žáků. Následující praktická část práce je zaměřena na analýzu komunikačních kompetencí žáků s poruchou autistického spektra. Cílem bylo analyzovat komunikační kompetence žáků s poruchou autistického spektra, používané metody pro rozvoj komunikačních kompetencí, na analýzu vývoje komunikačních schopností po sledovanou dobu. Pro dosažení cíle bylo zvoleno kvalitativní šetření založené na pozorování a na rozhovorech s pedagogickými pracovníky a na zúčastněném pozorování. Pro zjištění informací byla použita také pedagogická dokumentace. Praktická část byla zpracována metodou otevřeného kódování, kde byly postupně analyzovány jednotlivé kategorie týkající se komunikačních kompetencí žáků s poruchami autistického spektra.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the communicative competences of a student with autism spectrum disorder. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes basic information about autism spectrum disorders, presents their definition, etiology, diagnosis, clinical symptoms and describes different types of these disorders. The next part focuses on communication, the definition and function of communication, motivation to communicate, and the specifics of communication of children with autism spectrum disorders. It also shows the possibilities of education for these pupils. The following practical part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of communication competences of pupils with autism spectrum disorder. The aim was to analyze the communicative competences of pupils with autism spectrum disorder, the methods used for the development of communicative competences, and to analyze the development of communicative abilities over the observed period of time. In order to achieve the objective, a qualitative investigation based on observation and on interviews with teaching staff and participant observation was chosen. Pedagogical documentation was also used to obtain information. The practical part was developed using the open coding method, where the different categories related to the communication competences of pupils with autism spectrum disorders were analyzed in turn.
