Analysis of financial statements of a real company for purposes of transferring to IFRS

Abstract:

Diplomová práce popisuje proces přeměny účetních informací v rámci změny účetního systému. Konkrétně se jedná o převod účetních dat reálné společnosti, která tvoří výkazy v souladu s českými účetními předpisy, do podoby odpovídající Mezinárodním standardům účetního výkaznictví (IFRS). V teoretické části jsou popsány zejména standardy využívané pro úpravu informací v praktické části. Pro aplikaci v praktické části byl zvolen výkaz o finanční situaci, kde jsou jednotlivé položky rozvahy analyzovány a přetvořeny do podoby požadované IFRS. Výstupem práce je modelovaný výkaz o finanční situaci, doplněný podrobnými popisy v komentářích. V poslední části práce je identifikován dopad přeměny účetních informací na vybrané finanční ukazatele, jejichž výše je porovnána s predikcemi Rady pro mezinárodní účetní výkaznictví IASB.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis describes the process of modifying financial information due to change in accounting system. To be more precise, it shows how to transfer accounting data made in accordance with Czech accounting standards to a form that is valid in the environment of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). In the theoretical part, some of the standards are described which contain information needed to modify the financial data the practical part is working with. For the application of the data in the practical part, the balance sheet statement was chosen, where all the parts of it are analysed and transferred to a form that is suitable for IFRS. A modelized, complete balance sheet with comments describing its details is the outcome of the thesis. Finally, this diploma thesis describes the effect of change on accounting data, on some of the financial ratios. These changes are compared with the predictions set by IASB.
