Factors affecting intensity of damage from wild boars (Sus scrofa) on plantations with woody species

Abstract:

Škody prasetem divokým na nově obnovených plochách se v lesnické praxi stávají stále aktuálnějším problémem. Jedná se hlavně o škody vznikající vyrýváním nebo vytahováním sazenic na nově obnovených plochách a jejich dalším případným poškozováním, jako je například poškození nadzemní části nebo kořenového systému sazenice, ať už se jedná o jeho mechanické poškození nebo to, že kořenový systém vytažené sazenice zaschne a sazenice je tím nevratně poškozena. Tato práce se zabývá jednotlivými faktory, které mají vliv na samotný vznik škod a jejich intenzitu, a návrhy opatření pro minimalizaci škod prasaty na výsadbách lesních dřevin.

Abstract:

Damage from wild boars at newly reforested areas in forestry practice is getting more relevant in these days. It mainly means damage, which arise from rooting or pulling out the plants at newly reforested areas and their other prospetive damage, for example a damage of aerial part of plants or damage of root system. Root system could be damaged mechanically or that the root system of tree gets dried and it irreversibly harm the plant. This thesis is attending on particular factors, which are affecting beggining of damege and their intensity. Outcome of this thesis should be made of suggestion for minimization of damage from wildboars on planting of woody species.
