Chernobyl event in optics of periodical Czech and French printed medias

Abstract:

Předkládaná magisterská diplomová práce se věnuje mediálnímu obrazu černobylské události, jak byl konstruován a jak vypadal ve vybraném období od data incidentu, tedy 26. dubna 1986, do 31. května stejného roku, na stránkách vybraných českých a francouzských periodických tištěných médií. Z českých bylo vybráno Rudé právo a Mladá fronta, z francouzských pak Le Figaro a Le Monde. Cílem práce je objasnění, jak byl mediální obraz na stránkách uvedených periodik konstruován, odhalení mechanismů a prostředků, které se na vytváření tohoto obrazu podílely, a odhalení diskurzivních modelů utvářených v souvislosti s černobylskou událostí. Jako metodu práce jsme zvolili diskurzivní analýzu podle Jamese Paula Geeho, obsahující sedm oblastí konstrukce reality, a ideologické mody operandi Johna B. Thompsona. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí. V teoretické části jsou definovány zvolené metody, teoretická východiska použitá při práci a také historický kontext, analytická část obsahuje analýzu mediálního obrazu události v černobylské jaderné elektrárně.

Abstract:

Presented master diploma thesis deals with the topic of media image of Chernobyl event, as it has been constructed and has looked in the chosen period of time, since the event in 26th april 1986, to 31st may of the same year, on the pages of chosen Czech and French printed periodical medias. From the Czech newspapers were selected Rudé právo and Mladá fronta, from the French ones Le Figaro and Le Monde. The goal of this work is to clarify, how was the media image constructed, revelation of mechanisms and tools dealing with the construction of this image and also disclosure of discursive models made in the connection with the event. As a method of this work we have chosen the discourse analysis by James Paul Gee, containing seven fields of construction of the reality, and ideological modes of operation defined by John B. Thompson. The work is divided into two main parts. In the theoretical part are defined chosen methods, theoretical basis used for the work and also historical context, the analytical part contains the analysis of the media image of the event in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
