Case studies about bilingualism referring to Czech and German

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis titled „Case studies about bilingualism referring to Czech and German“ („Fallstudien über die Zweisprachigkeit bezugnehmend auf Tschechisch und Deutsch“) I examine the phenomenon of bilingualism with a focus on the Czech and German language. The presented bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part mostly explains what exactly is mother language, second language and foreign language and what are differences between them. Secondly is attention paid to the learning process and prerequisites required for the learning process. Thirdly the theoretical part describes bilingualism, which is backbone of the whole work. The empirical part analyses interviews with bilingual people. My goal was to find out how people perceive their bilinguality.

Abstract:

V bakalářské práci s názvem „Případové studie o dvojjazyčnosti s důrazem na český a německý jazyk“ („Fallstudien über die Zweisprachigkeit bezugnehmend auf Tschechisch und Deutsch“) se věnuji fenoménu dvojjazyčnosti s důrazem na tyto dva jazyky. Předložená bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část práce se v prvé řadě zabývá vysvětlením toho, co je mateřský jazyk, druhý a cizí jazyk a rozdíly mezi nimi. Dále je pozornost věnována procesu osvojování jazyka a předpokladům pro jeho osvojování. V neposlední řadě je popsán fenomén dvojjazyčnosti, který tvoří jádro celé práce. V empirické části jsou analyzovány rozhovory s lidmi, kteří byli vychováváni bilingválně. Mým cílem bylo zjistit, jak tito lidé vnímají tuto skutečnost.
