Counterfeiting money

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of forgery of euro banknotes in the state of the Slovak Republic. It describes the development of counterfeiting money from ancient times to the present. It analyzes the individual protective elements of euro banknotes, while paying attention to prevention aimed at forgery of banknotes. The work is also devoted to the main institutions that cover the trustworthiness of euro banknotes. They are constantly improving their protective features in response to technically advanced counterfeiting. The euro is a stable currency that is difficult to counterfeit at a high level. This is also proven by the statistics of the National Bank of Slovakia, which did not reveal a sharp increase in counterfeits in the recent period. Despite the new digital form of money, cash continues to fulfill its important function. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on educational activities among the general public, which has the task of recognizing counterfeits from real euro banknotes. In the empirical part of the work, we used the questionnaire method. As part of the research sample, we chose seniors who belong to the risk group in the context of deterioration of cognitive functions, when they cannot distinguish a real banknote from a counterfeit one carefully enough. Our goal was to find out the basic awareness of seniors about the issue, and to find possible approaches and solutions in educational activities for this group of people.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa sústreďuje na problematiku falšovania euro bankoviek v štáte Slovenskej republiky. Analyzuje jednotlivé ochranné prvky euro bankoviek, pričom dáva do pozornosti prevenciu zameranú na falšovanie bankoviek. Práca sa taktiež venuje hlavným inštitúciám, ktoré zastrešujú dôveryhodnosť euro bankoviek. Tie neustále zlepšujú ich ochranné prvky v nadväznosti na pokročilé techniky falšovania. Euro je stabilnou menou, ktorú je náročné sfalšovať na vysokej úrovni. Dokazujú to i štatistiky Národnej banky Slovenska, ktoré neodhalili prudký nárast falzifikátov v poslednom období. Napriek novej digitálnej forme peňazí, hotovosť neustále plní svoju dôležitú funkciu. Preto je nutné zamerať sa na osvetovú činnosť medzi širokou verejnosťou, ktorá má za úlohu rozpoznať falzifikáty od pravých euro bankoviek. V empirickej časti práce sme využili metódu dotazníka. V rámci výskumnej vzorky sme zvolili seniorov, ktorí patria do rizikovej skupiny v kontexte zhoršenia kognitívnych funkcií, kedy nedokážu rozoznať dostatočne pozorne pravú bankovku od falzifikátu. Náš cieľ smeroval k zisteniu základného povedomia seniorov o danej problematike, a nájsť možné prístupy a riešenia v osvetovej činnosti pre túto skupinu ľudí.
