Basic school children and their knowledge of allergic disseases.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou alergických onemocnění u dětí na základních školách. Je členěna do dvou částí, teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část je zpracována formou informačního textu, který popisuje jednotlivé typy alergických onemocnění. Zabývá se jejich příčinami, příznaky, diagnózou, spouštěcími faktory a léčbou. Zvýšená pozornost je věnována prevenci a první pomoci při akutních stavech. Tato část je doplněna o kapitoly, které se zabývají tím, jak alergie zasahují do běžného života člověka, například do sportovních aktivit nebo těhotenství. V praktické části jsou shrnuty a podrobně diskutovány výsledky dotazníkového šetření, které mělo za cíl zjistit, jaké jsou znalosti žáků a učitelů o těchto onemocněních, jaké s nimi mají osobní zkušenosti a zda považují školní prostředí za vhodné pro pobyt alergika. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je, na základě výsledků výzkumu, upozornit na aktuálnost a důležitost dané problematiky a navrhnout řešení, vedoucí ke zlepšení situace na základních školách.

Abstract:

The thesis is concerned with problems of allergic diseases of children at basic schools. It is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is worked up in form of informative text describing individual types of allergic diseases. It deals with their causes, symptoms, diagnose, releasing factors and therapy. It is also focused on prevention and the first help with urgent cases. The influence of allergies on a common life, for example during sport activities or pregnancy, is described in particular chapters of the theoretical part. The practical part summarizes and discusses the results of questionnaire. The purpose of the questionnaire was to find out how informed about the allergic diseases the teachers and pupils are and about their personal experiences with them. The questionnaire included as well a question about their opinion of the school environment and its suitability for an allergic child. The main aim of my thesis based on the research results was to point out importance of this topic and suggest solution leading to improvement of the situation at the basic schools.
