The evolution in selected rules of etiquette in time due to social networks

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této diplomové práce je problematika komparace vybraných pravidel etikety současnosti a doby před sto lety. Práce je koncipována čistě teoreticky a je členěna do čtyř hlavních částí, jimiž jsou etiketa, vliv technologií na změny při aplikaci pravidel etikety, problematika médií a vybraná pravidla etikety v konceptu sémiotiky. Cílem práce je na základě studia relevantní literatury prokázat sestupnou tendenci ve vývoji dobrých mravů osob ve věku 15-35 let. V úvodu je práce zaměřena na vymezení pojmu etiketa v souvislosti s jejím chápáním současnou společností. Kromě vymezení pojmu etikety a pojmů s ním souvisejícím, je záměrem práce podrobněji popsat historii technických vynálezů, jež zásadně ovlivnili možnosti komunikace. Ve třetí části diplomové práce jsou kromě samotné definice médií objasněny otázky týkající se médií a rizik s nimi spojenými. Poslední část je věnována oblasti sémiotiky a to konkrétně symbolice emotikonů. V závěru práce reflektuje skutečnosti dokazující jistý úpadek lidských mravů v souvislosti s používáním sociálních sítí.

Abstract:

The main topic of this Diploma thesis is comparison of selected rules of etiquette today and a century ago. The thesis is theoretical and is divided into four main parts, which are definition of the term Etiquette, the influence of technological development on etiquette, media and selected rules of etiquette in the concept of semiotics. The target of the thesis is to demonstrate a downward trend in the development of good manners of people aged 15-35 years based on the study of relevant literature. In the introduction, the work is focused on defining the term etiquette in connection with its understanding by contemporary society. The goal of the next part, which is the influence of technological development on etiquette, is to describe in more detail the history of technical inventions that have fundamentally influenced the possibilities of communication. This section clarifies, among other things, issues related to the media and the risks associated with them. The last part is devoted to the field of semiotics, specifically the symbolism of emoticons. The end of the thesis reflects the facts, proving a certain decline of human morals in connection with the use of social networks.
