Assessment of the financial health of the company Mlékárna Hlinsko, a. s.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá finančním vývojem společnosti Mlékárna Hlinsko, a. s. v letech 2018 až 2022. Cílem je posoudit finanční zdraví společnosti a navrhnout doporučení vedoucí ke zlepšení její ekonomické situace. Jsou tak využity tradiční metody finanční analýzy, jmenovitě analýza absolutních a poměrových ukazatelů, analýza ekonomického zisku a bankrotních a bonitních modelů. Výsledkem práce je zjištění, že společnost finančně zdravá je, nicméně ji negativně ovlivňují mnohé faktory. Zejména má významný vliv její postavení v odvětví, související s nevýhodnou dobou splatnosti pohledávek, ziskovou marží a dalšími. Společnost zřetelně poznamenaly i vlivy jako pandemie Covid-19 a inflace cen. Celkově finanční vývoj společnosti však nemůže být považován za špatný. Na konci práce je doporučeno zaměřit se na přijímání opatření vedoucích ke snížení vlivu nevýhodného postavení, především cestou zlepšování vyjednávací síly.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis deals with the financial development of the company Mlékárna Hlinsko, a. s. in the years from 2018 to 2022. The aim is to assess the financial health of the company and propose recommendations leading to the improvement of its economic situation. Traditional methods of financial analysis are used, namely the analysis of absolute and ratio indicators, the analysis of economic value added, and bankruptcy and creditworthiness models. The result of the thesis is the finding that the company is financially healthy, however, it is negatively affected by many factors. In particular, its position in the industry has a significant impact, related to the unfavourable maturity of receivables, profit margin, and others. The company was also clearly influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic and inflation of prices. Despite all this, the financial development of the company cannot be considered bad. At the end of the thesis, it is recommended to focus on adopting measures leading to the reduction of the influence of its industry position, primarily through improving bargaining power.
