Thanatology from the Perspective of Caregivers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce ,,Thanatologie z pohledu pečujících osob" se zabývá problematikou hospicové a paliativní péče, a jedincem v hospicové a paliativní péči. V teoretické části byly popisovány postoje k umírání a smrti, smysl smrti i specifické potřeby v období umírání, vymezení paliativní péče. Bakalářská práce nemá za cíl poskytnout návod na péči o umírající, ale poskytnout prostor k zamyšlení nad mezerami v našem postoji ke smrti a bariéry, které nám brání doprovázet umírající podle jejich přání.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis " Thanatology from the perspective of caregivers" deals with the hospice and palliative care issue and focuses on the individual in hospice and palliative care. The theoretical part describes the attitudes to dying and death, sense of death, specific needs in the time of dying, definition of the palliatiuve care. This thesis is not the manual or instructions how to handle the care of a dying patient, but rather opens the mind with respect to the dying process in order to allow patient to chose the way he would like to spend his last moments.
