Tato práce si klade za cíl analyzovat prvky sociálního antagonismu ve vybraných dílech fikce viktoriánského autora Thomase Hardyho. Na příkladech z díl Tess of d'Urberville a Jude the Obscure dokazuje, že Hardy ve svích dílech podrobuje viktoriánskou společnost kritice. Abstract:
This thesis focuses on two of the novels written by Thomas Hardy – Tess of d'Urbervilles, and his most controversial work Jude the Obscure. It addresses the issues of social antagonism in his novels in the context of rural Victorian society.
