The Education Mathematics of Students with Hearing Impairment at The Upper Primary School

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vymezením specifik výuky matematiky u žáků se sluchovým postižením na druhém stupni základních škol. V rámci výzkumného šetření, které proběhlo prostřednictvím hloubkových rozhovorů se sedmi pedagogy matematiky učících na školách pro žáky se sluchovým postižením, došlo k odhalení základních metod a forem práce, kteří tito pedagogové volí právě pro výuku žáků se sluchovým postižením. Analýza hloubkových rozhovorů přinesla také informace o učebních materiálech a pomůckách, které pedagogové využívají při přípravě na výuku i během samotného procesu vyučování. Nedílnou součástí výzkumného šetření také bylo odhalení oblastí matematiky, které činí žákům se sluchovým postižením potíže. Pedagogové uváděli, že nejčastěji mají žáci obtíže se slovními úlohami a v oblasti geometrie. V této diplomové práci je taktéž uvedeno, jakým způsobem pedagogové přistupují k výuce těchto problematických oblastí a jaké strategie využívají pro podporu žáků při osvojování si obtížného učiva. Diplomová práce by mohla být přínosná pro začínající učitele, kteří chtějí získat přehled o specifikách výuky matematiky u žáků se sluchovým postižením, a také inspirací pro vhodnou volbu přístupu k výuce matematiky s ohledem na sluchové postižení žáků. Tato práce by taktéž mohla být podnětná pro zkušené pedagogy, kteří hledají nové možnosti práce s žáky při výuce s cílem vyhovět jejich specifikům, jež ovlivňují výuku matematiky z důvodu sluchového postižení.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the indication of the specific of education mathematics of students with hearing impairment at the upper primary school. The research survey, which was conducted on the deep interviews with seven mathematic teachers of schools for students with hearing impairment, revealed the basic teaching methods and forms, which teachers choose for teaching students with hearing impairment. The analysis of interviews shows information about teaching materials and aids, which teachers use for lesson preparation and in teaching practice. A substantial part of the research was revealing the problematic area in mathematics, which cause trouble to the students with hearing impairment. Teachers mostly mentioned that students most often struggled with word problems and geometric. This diploma thesis also shows, how teachers deal with teaching this problematic area and which strategies they use to support students in learning this difficult curriculum. This diploma thesis should be beneficial for the beginning teachers, who want to get an overview of the specifics of education mathematics of students with hearing impairment and the diploma thesis should be inspirational for convenient choice of pedagogical approach to teaching mathematics concerning hearing impairment of students. This diploma thesis also could be inspirational for experienced teachers who are looking for new teaching methods and forms to meet students’ needs because their hearing impairment has an impact on the education of mathematics.
