Predmetom tejto bakalárskej práce je analyzovať zmeny Európskej únie po zavedení Lisabonskej zmluvy. Predovšetkým sa táto práca zameriava na jej nový inštitucionálny systém. Prvá časť práce všeobecne vymedzuje pojem Lisabonská zmluva a opisuje jej najvýznamnejšie zmeny.
