Social support and social desirable acitivties for older children and adolescents

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, zda existuje pozitivní vztah mezi sociální oporou a preferencí sociálně desirabilních aktivit. Práce je členěná na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se věnuje sociální opoře, sociálnímu prostředí, charakteristikou období staršího školního věku a adolescence. Další součástí teoretické části jsou sociálně desirabilní aktivity a patologické jevy. Praktická část se zabývala zmapováním vzájemných vztahů mezi sociální oporou a sociálně desirabilními aktivitami. Jednalo se o kvantitativní výzkum, a data byla získána formou dotazníku. Výzkumu se účastnilo celkem 213 respondentů ve věku od 11 do 18 let. Ke stanovení míry sociální opory byl použit standardizovaný dotazník PSSS od J. A. Blumenthala a sociálně desirabilní aktivity zmapoval dotazník vlastní konstrukce. Ke zjištění výsledků byl použit Pearsonův korelační koeficient a Studentův t-test, pomocnými testy byly F-test a u-test. Po analýze dat byla zjištěna statisticky významná korelace mezi sociální oporou a sociálně desirabilními aktivitami.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to determine whether there is a positive association between social support and preference for socially desirable activities. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with social support, social environment, characteristics of the period of older school age and adolescence. Another part of the theoretical part is socially desirable activities and pathological phenomena. The practical part deals with mapping the interrelationships between social support and socially desirable activities. It was a quantitative research and the data was collected in the form of a questionnaire. A total of 213 respondents aged between 11 and 18 years participated in the research. The standardised PSSS questionnaire by J. A. Blumenthal was used to determine the level of social support and my own questionnaire was used to map socially desirable activities. Pearson's correlation coefficient and Student's t-test were used to determine the results; F-test and u-test were the auxiliary tests. After data analysis, a statistically significant correlation was found between social support and socially desirable activities.
