Abstract:

Tato Diplomová práce s názvem tématu The style of textbooks (analysis of secondary school textbooks) se zaměřuje v první části porovnáváním vzdělávacího systému v České republice a v Novém Jižním Walesu v Austrálii. V této části se porovnávají základní, střední a vysoké školy obou zmíněných zemí. V další části se práce zabývá především obsahem knih, které jsou porovnávány. Jsou jimi knihy s názvem HSC Geography a Regionální zeměpis světadílů. Tato část práce se zabývá zejména lexikální a stylistickou problematikou, větnou stavbou a užitou terminologií. Porovnávají se například zvolené výrazy, jednoduché a složené věty či druh a styl písma v jednotlivých knihách. Dále se tato část Diplomové práce zabývá porovnáváním grafického zpracování, rozvržení textu v prostoru, písmem a využití a propracování dodatečných podpůrných materiálů, jakými jsou například mapy, obrázky, fotografie či grafy. Poslední část této Diplomové práce, Závěr, shrnuje a popisuje, do jaké míry se autorovi práce podařilo analyzovat danou oblast, jaké použil techniky a jaké jsou výsledky analýzy.

Abstract:

This Master´s Thesis with the title The style of textbooks (analysis of secondary school textbooks) focuses in its first part on comparing of system of education in the Czech Repubic and in New South Wales in Australia. Primary schools, secondary schools and universities in both mentioned countries were compared in this part of this Master´s Thesis. The following part of this Master´s Thesis deals predominantly with the content of books that have been compared. These books are called HSC Geography and Regionální zeměpis světadílů. This chapter of this Master´s Thesis deals mainly with lexical and stylistic questions, structure of sentences and used terminology. For instance chosen terms, simple or complex sentences or kinds and types of font in individual course book are compared. The same chapter of this Master´s Thesis additionally focuses on graphical work in the above mentioned course books, layout of text, font and usage or elaboration of additional materials such as for instance maps, pictures or diagrams and graphs. The last chapter called Conclusion summarises and describes whether the author of this Master´s Thesis managed to analyse the given area, what research techniques were used and what the results of the analysis are.
