The ritual in psychotherapy from a view of therapists

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, jaký význam má rituál v psychoterapii z pohledu terapeutů. Zajímalo mě, zda terapeuti v psychoterapii s rituály pracují, jaké rituály využívají a jaký mají podle nich význam pro klientovu léčbu. Kvalitativní výzkum probíhal prostřednictvím rozhovorů s psychoterapeuty pracujícími s rituály. Data byla analyzována na základě principů metody zakotvené teorie. Ukázalo se, že terapeuti ve své práci využívají rituály terapeutického procesu, ale také rituály spojené s konkrétním řešeným tématem. Rituál chápou jako něco výjimečného, vyděleného z každodenního života. Může podpořit jak terapeuta, tak klienta, i celou terapii. Přináší změnu, posouvá proces, něco uzavírá a zároveň začíná něco nového, prohlubuje prožívání, pomáhá něco zvládnout, vytváří pocit bezpečí.

Abstract:

The aim of this work was to find out the meaning of ritual in psychotherapy from the therapists´ point of view. I was interested if therapists work with rituals in psychotherapy, what rituals they use and what significance it has on client´s treatment according to them. The qualitative research was accomplished by interviews with psychotherapists working with rituals. The data were analysed on basis of grounded theory principles. It come to light that therapists use rituals of therapeutic process at their work but also rituals connected with concrete solving theme. They take rituals as something extraordinary, taken out from everyday life. It can support both,the therapist and the client, and the whole therapy too. It brings change, moves the process, it closes something and opens something new at the same time, deepens experience, helps something cope, creates the sense of safety.
