Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the early period of the Cold War, and seeks to understand the very beginning of the Cold War and the reasons that led both powers to begin this conflict, it also seeks to understand the pivotal events of the Early Cold War and through the analysis of these events seeks to understand the way through which the early Cold War slowly escalated and why the Cold War didn't stop, until the fall of the Soviet Union. The primary aim of this work is to form a complete picture of the situation, including not only the motivations of both superpowers but also the actions they took to reach the desired conclusions in these pivotal events of the Early Cold War and how their actions and beliefs and motivations impacted the further course of the Cold War. The thesis uses my own knowledge in addition to the studied literature to get an accurate picture of the situation involving the particular pivotal event, including the influence of both past and concurrently happening events where relevant, as well as to explain the impact of the pivotal event on the future of not only Early Cold War, but the entire six decades long period of Cold War in its entirety.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na rané období studené války (1947-1961) a snaží se pochopit samotný začátek studené války a důvody, které vedly obě mocnosti, Spojené státy americké a Sovětský svaz, k zahájení tohoto konfliktu. Snaží se také porozumět stěžejním událostem rané studené války a prostřednictvím analýzy těchto událostí postihnout způsob, kterým raná studená válka pomalu eskalovala a proč se studená válka nezastavila před pádem Sovětského svazu. Hlavním cílem této práce je vytvořit ucelený obraz o situaci. Práce zahrnuje nejen motivy obou supervelmocí, ale také podniknutá opatření k dosažení požadovaných výsledků v těchto zásadních událostech rané studené války a jak jejich činy, úmysly a záměry ovlivnily další průběh studené války. Tato práce vychází z mých znalosti a z množství studované odborné literatury k získání přesného obrazu o situaci týkající se konkrétní zásadní události. Reflektuje rovněž vliv významných minulých a souběžných událostí, a snaží se vysvětlit dopad stěžejního dění na budoucnost nejen rané studené války, ale celých šesti desetiletí trvání období studené války jako celku.
