The loss of a life partner in middle age

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem ztráty životního partnera-manžela u žen v produktivním věku, tedy v období, kdy se ženy po smrti manžela ocitnou v situaci rodiče, který na děti zůstane sám. V teoretické části diplomové práce je uveden základní vhled do problematiky pojetí smrti. Následně je nastíněno to, jakým způsobem probíhá proces truchlení a možné reakce na ztrátu blízkého člověka spojená se změnou identity žen, také možnosti, jak se mohou ženy se ztrátou partnera vyrovnávat a zmíněny jsou rovněž potřeby pozůstalých. V teoretické ose diplomové práce je také charakterizován současný systém sociálního zabezpečení a možnosti sociální a terapeutické práce s pozůstalými. Hlavním cílem práce je zmapovat podpůrné faktory napomáhající ženám-vdovám a jejich rodinám vyrovnat se se ztrátou manžela a celkově popsat psychické, sociální, ekonomické a další faktory, které ztrátu doprovází. V praktické části jsou zrealizovány biografické studie konkrétních žen-vdov ve středním věku, které poskytly autentické zachycení psychologických, sociálních a ekonomických aspektů z období ovlivněného ztrátou manžela ve středním věku.

Abstract:

The present diploma thesis adresses the topic of the loss of life-long partner of women in productive age. The theoretical part of this thesis presents an insight into dead-regarding issues. The following charter focuses on the proces sof moaning and possible reactions to the loss of a partner connected with the change of women´s identity. It also discusses ways women can deal with the loss of their partner and it mentions needs of bereaved persons. Furthermore, it characterises contemporary system of social security and possibilities of social and therapeutical work with bereaved persons. The main aim of this thesis is to describe supporting elements that help widows and their families to deal with the loss of their husband. In addition, it explores psychological, social, economical and other factors that are connected to the loss. The practical part contains biographical studies of particular middle-aged women, who provided an authentic depictions of a psychological, social and economical aspects over the period affected by the loss of their husband.
