Data mart enlargement - data transfer, storage and analysis

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je řešení rozšíření datové základny pro Business Intelligence Zlínského kraje. K tomuto účelu bylo vybráno datové tržiště osobní dopravy, které je používáno největším množstvím uživatelů. Při zpracování se vycházelo z konkrétních požadavků uživatelů a na jejich základě byl upraven a rozšířen ETL proces. Dále byly upraveny OLAP kostky a zdokumentován použitý postup. Po dokončení úprav datové základny bylo řešeno rozšíření prezentační vrstvy. Jako první je řešena část zabývající se reporty, která je využívána většinou uživatelů. Původní reporty byly upraveny a vytvořeny nové, včetně zdokumentování použitých postupů. Na závěr je popsán způsob použití analytických nástrojů vhodných pro podrobné analýzy dat, které mohou používat pouze zkušení uživatelé s hlubšími znalostmi dané problematiky.

Abstract:

The objective of the diploma paper is the solution of the enlargement of the data base for Business Intelligence of the Zlin Region. For this purpose the data mart of the passenger traffic used by the biggest amount of the users has been chosen. During the processing it was appeared from the concrete request of the users and based on these ones the ETL process has been modified and enlarged. Further the OLAP cubes have been modified and the procedure used has been documented. After the completing of the modifications of the data base the enlargement of the presentation layer has been solved. As the first one being solved is the part dealing with the reports that is used by the majority of the users. The original reports have been modified and the new ones have been created, including the documentation of the procedures used. The final part gives the description of the way of the use of the analytic instruments convenient for the data analysis that can be used only by the experienced users with the deeper knowledge of the problematic.
