Selected traumas in children of upper primary school in the context of the classroom climate

Abstract:

Abstrakt Práce na téma “Vybraná traumata žáků na 2. stupni základní školy v kontextu třídního kolektivu” byla zpracována jako závěrečná diplomová práce v rámci navazujícího magisterského studia Sociální pedagogiky na Pedagogické fakultě Masarykovy univerzity v Brně. Cílem diplomové práce bylo popsat, jak se zážitek traumatu u dítěte projevuje ve školním prostředí a jakým způsobem je s traumatem žáka ve škole pracováno, se zřetelem k intervencím metodika prevence. Teoretická část diplomové práce je zaměřena na popis vybraných traumat, týkajících se dětí 8. a 9. ročníků, příčiny traumat, jejich charakteristiky a možný dopad traumatu na chování žáka. Přiblíženy jsou i možnosti pomoci zejména ze strany školy. V praktické části je popsán výzkum, jehož cílem bylo analyzovat zkušenost dětí s traumatem a určit, jaký vliv na jeho zvládání má třídní kolektiv a práce metodika prevence. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 154 žáků 8. a 9. tříd základních škol a 4 metodici prevence. Výzkum poukázal na význam třídního kolektivu pro žáky s traumatem a přiblížil vhodné formy práce s třídou a žákem s traumatem v osobní historii ze strany metodiků prevence. Součástí práce je i doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

Abstract The diploma thesis with its name “Selected traumas in children of upper primary school in the context of the classroom climate“ was settled as a final diploma thesis in Magister studies at Pedagogical faculty of Masaryk University in Brno. The aim of the thesis was to describe how the trauma experience in a child manifests itself in the school environment and how the trauma of the pupil is treated in the school with regard to interventions of school prevention worker. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the description of selected traumas concerning children of 8th and 9th grade, causes of traumas, their characteristics and possible impact of trauma on pupil behavior. The possibilities of assistance, especially from the school side, are also discussed. In the practical part is described the research, whose aim was to analyze the experience of children with trauma and to determine what influence on its coping has class collective and work of school prevention worker. The research sample consisted of 154 pupils of 8th and 9th grades of elementary schools and 4 school prevention workers. The research pointed out the importance of the class team for traumatized pupils and approached suitable forms of work with the class and traumatized pupil in personal history by school prevention workers. Part of the work is also recommendations for further practice.
