Assumptions of tourism development in a selected destination

Abstract:

Cestovní ruch je pro Prahu velmi důležitým odvětvím, které představuje významný zdroj příjmů a je klíčový pro hospodářský růst města. Pro rozvoj cestovního ruchu však existuje řada předpokladů, které musí být splněny. Cílem této bakalářské práce je zhodnocení předpokladů a nalezení klíčových faktorů, které ovlivňují cestovní ruch ve vybrané destinaci, respektive v Praze. Celková práce je rozdělena do tří částí, teoretické, analytické a návrhové. V první, teoretické části práce, jsou definovány klíčové pojmy cestovního ruchu, které jsou důležité pro pochopení cestovního ruchu z všeobecného hlediska. V druhé části práce je proveden průzkum aktuální situace Prahy, v podobě situační analýzy. Jsou zde zkoumány zejména klíčové faktory lokalizačních, realizačních a selektivních předpokladů. Jedná se o geografické, demografické, ekonomické, sociální, kulturní, přírodní, technologické a dopravní faktory. Ke konci analytické části je realizováno dotazníkové šetření pro návštěvníky, ale také rezidenty Prahy, které umožnilo získat důležité informace o názorech lidí k aktuálnímu stavu cestovního ruchu v Praze. Rovněž byly sestaveny dvě výzkumné otázky: "Jaký je současný stav cestovního ruchu v Praze?" a "Jaké jsou hlavní výzvy a příležitosti cestovního ruchu pro budoucí rozvoj v Praze?“ Tyto výzkumné otázky jsou zodpovězeny v závěru práce pomocí výsledků z dotazníkového šetření a situační analýzy. Na základě získaných poznatků je v poslední části práce předloženo několik doporučení a návrhů pro další potenciální rozvoj cestovního ruchu v Praze.

Abstract:

Tourism is a highly important industry for Prague, serving as a significant source of income and a key driver of the city's economic growth. However, the development of tourism relies on several assumptions that need to be met. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to assess these assumptions and identify key factors influencing tourism in the selected destination, Prague. The thesis is divided into three main parts: theoretical, analytical, and proposal. In the theoretical part, key concepts of tourism are defined, providing a general understanding of tourism as a whole. The second part focuses on conducting a situational analysis to examine the current state of tourism in Prague. Key factors related to locational, operational, and selective assumptions are explored, including geographic, demographic, economic, social, cultural, natural, technological, and transportation factors. Towards the end of the analytical section, a questionnaire survey is conducted among both visitors and residents of Prague. This survey helps gather important insights into people's opinions regarding the current state of tourism in the city. Furthermore, two research questions are formulated: "What is the current state of tourism in Prague?" and "What are the main challenges and opportunities for the future development of tourism in Prague?" These research questions are addressed in the conclusion of the thesis, utilizing the findings from the questionnaire survey and situational analysis. Based on the acquired knowledge, the final part of the thesis presents several recommendations and proposals for further potential development of tourism in Prague.
