Financing of the educational system in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku financování školství v České republice. Cílem práce je analyzovat finanční stránku daných organizací, se zaměřením na zřizovatele daných institucí, posoudit výši finančních zdrojů a jejich využití. Teoretická část se zabývá školstvím a vzděláváním, legislativním vymezením, orgány veřejné správy, které mají, co dočinění se školstvím a samotným financováním veřejných škol v České republice. Praktická část je zaměřená na tři konkrétní instituce, od základní školy, přes střední školu až po vysokou školu. U všech tří škol je provedena analýza příjmů a výdajů škol za poslední 3 až 4 roky. Na základě získaných poznatků jsou v závěru zformulovány případné doporučení a návrhy pro nejen zlepšení ekonomické stránky školy, ale i pro zkvalitnění výuky.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the issue of financnicg education in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the financial aspect of these organizations, with the focus on the founders of such institutions, and assess the amount of financial resources and their use. The theoretical part deals with education and training, legislative definition, public authorities that have something to do with education and the financing of public schools in the Czech Republic. The practical part is focused on three specific intitutions, from primary school, trough secondary school to university. An analysis of school income and expenditure over the last 3 to 4 years was carried out for all three schools which were selected. Based on the knowledge gained, possible recommendations and suggestions, not only for improving the economics aspect of the school, but also for improving the quality of teaching are formulated in the conclusion.
