Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá výběrem vzorků v kvantitativních studiích v managementu, kde navzdory reprezentativnosti pravděpodobnostních metod často dominují nepravděpodobnostní metody výběru výzkumného vzorku. Cílem je analyzovat argumentaci použitou při obhajobě těchto metod a zjistit, do jaké míry jsou jednotlivé metody výběru výzkumného vzorku využívány. Výsledky ukazují neshodu mezi stávající metodologií a výzkumnou praxí. Byly identifikovány dvě nové metody výběru výzkumného vzorku, metoda databázového výběru a metoda crowdsourcingového výběru, které dominují v nejprestižnějších žurnálech v managementu. Argumentace metod odhalily, které typy zkreslení v praxi nejčastěji výzkumníci řeší a jaké mechanismy využívají pro jejich zmírnění. Práce přináší doporučení pro využití metod výběru výzkumného vzorku, což může usnadnit jejich volbu a obhajobu v akademických i vědeckých publikacích.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with sampling in quantitative studies in ma-nagement, where despite the representativeness of probabilistic methods, non-probabilistic methods of research sample selection often dominate. The aim is to analyse the reasoning used in defending these methods and to determine the extent to which each research sample selection method is used. The results show a mismatch between existing methodology and research practice. Two new methods of research sample selection were identified, the database sampling method and the crowdsourcing method, which dominate inthe most prestigious journals in management. Argumentations of the methods revealed which types of biases researchers most often address in practice and what mechanisms they use to mitigate them. The paper provides recommendations for the use of research sampling methods, which can facilitate their selection and advocacy in academic and scholarly publications.
