Icelandic financial crisis

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem bakalářské práce je problém islandské finanční krize, která se objevila v roce 2008 jako důsledek finančního boomu. Výrazně narušila bankovní sektor, chod ekonomiky a zasáhla tvrdě i domácnosti. Úvod je věnován charakteristice islandského hospodářství a finančního systému. Dále je pak v práci analyzován dopad nevhodné monetární a fiskální politiky a dalších faktorů jakožto impulsů krizové situace. Následuje podrobnější náhled na události vedoucí k recesi a závěrem se práce věnuje pokrizové situaci a aktuálním tématům.

Abstract:

Main topic of the bachelor thesis is the problem of the Icelandic financial crisis which occurred in 2008 as a consequence of boom in financial sector. It critically disrupted banking sector, functioning of economy and households were also hit hard. Introduction is dedicated to the characteristic of Icelandic economy and financial system. Then the thesis analyzes the impact of improper monetary and fiscal policy and other factors as impulses of crisis situation. It is followed by more detailed perspective on events leading to the downturn and the bachelor thesis is ended by the post-crisis situation and actual topics.
