Spanning Tree Protocol on Mikrotik platform.

Abstract:

Cílem práce je ověřit Spanning Tree Protocol na platformě MikroTik a porovnat jej se zařízením Cisco. V teoretické části autor popíše možnost vzniku smyček na L2 vrstvě a řešení tohoto problému pomocí SPT dle normy IEEE 802.1d včetně RSTP. V praktické části autor navrhne topologie postihující řešení smyček v síti na L2 vrstvě na zařízeních MikroTik a Cisco včetně příkladů, jak každá technologie přistupuje k řešení výpadků linek. V závěrečném hodnocení provede výsledné zhodnocení jednotlivých technologií STP a RSTP.

Abstract:

Main goal of bachelor's thesis is to verify how Spanning Tree Protocol works on MikroTik and compare its functionality on Cisco devices. In theoretical part author is going to describe how loops are created on L2 layer and solution of this problem using SPT according IEEE 802.1d including RSTP. In practical part, author is going to create a topology which is dealing with cycles in second layer on MikroTik and Cisco devices, including examples, how each technology deal with malfunctions. At the end of the bachelor's author will conduct an evaluation of each technologies.
