Shared reading in preschools and its relation to the development of narrative abilities of children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce má výzkumný charakter. Cílem této bakalářské práce je seznámit čtenáře s problematikou čtenářské pregramotnosti, konkrétněji s významem společného čtení pro dítě předškolního věku, a popsat jeho vliv na rozvoj narativních schopností dětí v předškolním věku. V empirické části práce byl realizován kvalitativní výzkum dětí předškolního věku, který proběhl v mateřské škole. Ve výzkumném šetření se děti frekventovaně účastnily společného čtení. Výzkum pozoroval vstupní vyprávění předškolních dětí po prvním společném čtení a výstupní vyprávění na konci společného čtení. Výsledky tohoto výzkumu mohou objasnit, jak děti své příběhy tvoří a jaký má společné čtení vliv na rozvoj narativních schopností předškolních dětí ve věku od čtyřech do šesti let.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is of research character. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the topic of pre-readers literacy, specifically the importance of reading together with pre-school children and description of the influence of reading on the development of narrative skills of pre-school children. The empiric part of the thesis describes the quality research of children of pre-school age that was carried out in a kindergarten. The children repeatedly participated in reading activities as a part of research. The research observed the preliminary narrative skills of pre-school children after the first reading session and the output narration at the final reading session. The results of this research can clarify how children create their stories and what is the influence of reading together on the development of narrative skills of pre-school children aged four to six years.
