Anotace:

My thesis deals with the relationship between mass media and politics, particularly in the context of George W. Bush’s elections and his administration. The main goal is to clarify the role of media during presidential elections and during the time of national crisis. The thesis is divided into four chapters. While the first one concentrates more on the theoretical background and general issues, the other three chapters deal with the specific situations: Election 2000 and 2004, and the War on Terror. What I want to show is the influence that the media have on the politics, and their role in everyday political and ordinary life.
