Changes in the lives of clients with mental disabilities in connection with the transformation of social services

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zaměřuje na změny v životě klientů s mentálním postižením v souvislosti s transformací sociálních služeb. Cílem práce je zjistit, analyzovat a popsat rozdíly v životě klientů s mentálním postižením před a po transformaci sociálních služeb. Jak vypadal život klientů před transformaci sociálních služeb, jak vypadá jejich život po transformaci sociálních služeb a jak se transformace sociálních služeb v jejich životě odráží. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a výzkumnou část. Teoretická část popisuje historii sociálních služeb, proces transformace pobytových sociálních služeb, transformaci Zámku Nová Horka, p.o. a mentální postižení. Jako výzkumnou strategii jsem zvolila kvalitativní výzkum, kdy jsem použila metodu polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Získaná data byla analyzována pomocí zakotvené teorie.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on changes in the lives of clients with disabilities as a result of the reform of social services. The focus of this study is to detect, assess, and characterize the variations in the lives of clients with mental disorders before and after the transformation of welfare services. What was clients' life like before the transformation of social services, what is their life like after the transformation of social services, and how is the transformation of social services reflected in their lives. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and research. The theoretical section discusses the history of social services, the process of residential social service transformation, the transformation of the Nová Horka Castle, p.o., and mental impairments. I chose qualitative research as a research technique, employing the semi-structured interview method. Grounded theory was used to examine the collected data.
