The reflection of childhood in The Democratic Republic of Germany during the eightieths of the last century in present Germanic fiction

Abstract:

Diploma thesis “The reflection of childhood in The Democratic Republic of Germany during the eightieths of the last century in present Germanic fiction” presents belletristic writings of contemporary young German authors, which describe the childhood in the 80th in the GDR in the real socialism and shortly after the revolution and reunification of Germany. The authors were born after 1970 and they spent their childhood at this time. There is one exception. The writings belong to the term “Wendeliteratur”. The work is divided in two parts. The first part includes an overview of historical contexts of 80th in the GDR and the important features of this time, first of all the pioneer organisation, socialistic education and school system. The second part paid attention to the constituent authors, which were chosen in accordance with predetermined rules.

Diplomová práce „Das Bild der DDR-Kindheit der 80er Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts im gegenwärtigen deutschen Jugendroman“ představuje beletristická díla současných mladých německých autorů, kteří zobrazují dětství v 80. letech v NDR v reálném socialismu a krátce po revoluci a sjednocení Německa. Autoři se až na jednu výjimku narodili po roce 1970 a své vlastní dětství a mládí v této době prožili. Díla tématicky spadají pod pojem „Wendeliteratur“. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První část obsahuje přehled historických souvislostí 80. let v NDR a hlavní charakteristiky dětství dané doby, zejména pionýrskou organizaci, socialistickou výchovu a školství. Druhá část je věnována jednotlivým autorům, kteří byli vybráni dle předem zvolených kriterií.
