Options for GIS data collection using mobile devices

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá hodnocením „smart“ zařízení a využitím jejich lokalizačních služeb, především z hlediska přesnosti zaměřených prvků. V rešeršní části byly srovnány parametry „smart“ přístrojů s vysoce přesnými příručními přístroji a v pilotním projektu byly vyzkoušeny v terénu. Cílem bylo odhalit, s jakou přesností je určována poloha, jaké možnosti dnešní hardware a software nabízí, a na jaké projekty je vhodné nejen „smart“ přístroje využít. Měření byla srovnávána na základě nejbližší vzdálenosti vertexu od referenčního prvku. Tyto rozdíly v poloze byly kvantifikovány, statisticky porovnány a vizualizovány. Výsledkem práce bylo zhodnocení přístrojů podle věrohodnosti lokalizace, srovnání možností, které dnes GNSS vytváří, a doporučení, jaký typ zařízení si v praxi vybrat. Pro jednoduché méně přesné mapování prostorově vzdálenějších bodů lze zvolit „smart“ přístroje, pro podrobný polohopis nebo pro velmi přesná měření geodetické GNSS přístroje.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of smart devices and the usage of their location services, especially in terms of the accuracy of measured elements. In research part of this thesis, parameters of smart devices were compared with high precision handheld devices and then were tested in terrain in pilot project. The aim was to determine how precise the positioning is, which possibilities are offered by current hardware and software and which projects are suitable for using smart or other devices. The measurements were compared on the basis of nearest distance between the vertex and the reference element. The differences in position were quantified, statistically compared and visualized. The outcome of this thesis was an evaluation of the devices according to the localisation credibility, the comparison of possibilities created by current GNSS and a recommendation which type of device to choose in practice. For simple and less accurate mapping of spatially distant points it is possible to choose smart devices, however for more concentrated points or very precise measurements geodetic GNSS devices are advised.
