Audit of Information Security

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o prvotním zavedení systému řízení bezpečnosti informací dle nejlepší praxe se zřetelem na organizace střední velikosti. Systém řízení bezpečnosti informací (ISMS – Information Security Management System) je soubor pravidel a opatření po jejichž zavedení má správné a úplné informace (princip integrity) včas k dispozici ten, kdo je skutečně potřebuje (princip dostupnosti) a pouze ten, kdo je k přístupu k nim oprávněn (princip důvěrnosti). Je to systém, který nejen chrání informace organizace před ztrátou či zneužitím, ale chrání i členy vedení a zaměstnance před nechtěnými prohřešky vůči zákonům ČR. Bezpečnost informací je spojená s distribuovanou (individuální) zodpovědností a je velmi důležitá pro zajištění činností jakékoli organizace. Největším nebezpečím pro zabezpečení informací je člověk, který způsobí většinu bezpečnostních incidentů. Každý si musí být vědom toho, že se nedá bezpečnost informací zajistit stoprocentně, ale mělo by být provedeno vše, aby se bezpečnost zajistila na přijatelné úrovni za ekonomicky zdůvodnitelné náklady.

Abstract:

This graduation thesis deals with the primary implementation of information security management system as per best practice with respect to the middle-sized entities. The Information Security Management System (ISMS) is a set of rules and measures, after implementation of which the correct and full information (integrity principle) is available in due time to who actually needs it (availability principle) and only to who is authorized to access to such information (confidentiality principle). It is a system that not only protects the information of the entity against loss or abuse, but also protects the members of management and employees against unintentional offences of the law of the Czech Republic. The information security is associated with distributed (individual) responsibility and is highly important to assure the activities of any entity. The highest risk to the information security is embodied in a person who causes the majority of security incidents. Everybody has to be aware that information security cannot be assured to 100 per cent but any and all measures should be taken to assure security at the acceptable level and at the economically justifiable costs.
