Lexems with German Diminutives with -chen and their Counterparts in Czech

Abstract:

The thesis presents certain aspects of a contrastive research on German diminutives with the suffix -chen and their counterparts in Czech. The investigation is based on the data from the parallel text corpus InterCorp, which provides the opportunity to compare the means of expressing the diminutives in consideration the structural aspects and examine them from the viewpoint of the possible translation procedures. The focus is on the formal diminutives, as well as on the diminutives, which are modifying the illocutionary force of the speech acts.

Abstract:

Práce prezentuje dílčí aspekty kontrastivního výzkumu německých deminutiv se sufixem -chen a jejich českých protějšků. Jazykový materiál z paralelního korpusu InterCorp poskytuje možnost porovnání jazykových prostředků odpovídajících v češtině německým deminutivům z hlediska jejich struktury, ale i z hlediska možných postupů při převodu do jiného jazyka. Pozornost je věnována jak formálním deminutivům, tak deminutivům modifikujícím sociokomunikační roli řečového aktu.
