Plant hormones cytokinins play important role in regulation of plant development. Plants react to cytokinins via two and more component signaling pathway. In the beginning of this pathway, there are histidine kinases, which identify cytokinin signal. Rastlinné hormóny cytokiníny hrajú kľúčovú úlohu v regulácii vývoja rastlín. Rastliny reagujú na cytokiníny prostredníctvom viacstupňovej signálnej dráhy. Na jej začiatku stoja senzorové histidinkinázy, ktoré rozpoznávajú cytokinínový signál. Genóm Arabidopis kóduje niekoľko receptorových histidinkináz.
