Gender in pedagogical practice: focused on nursery schools

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku genderu v intencích pedagogické praxe. Cílem práce je odhalit, jak pedagožky ve dvou mateřských školách zachází s genderem v každodennosti. Tato práce rovněž směřuje ke snaze ukázat, jaké tyto pedagožky zastávají představy ohledně rozdílností mezi chlapci a dívkami, co považují za maskulinní a femininní. Dále se práce soustředí na to, jaké pedagožky zastávají postoje k překračování genderového řádu dětmi v mateřské škole, a také na jejich pohled ohledně toho, kdo nebo co takové překračování genderového řádu dětem umožňuje. Práce využívá etnografického designu, který je založený na osmi polostrukturovaných rozhovorech s pedagožkami, zúčastněném pozorování a analýze dokumentů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the issue of gender in the intention of pedagogical practice. The main aim of the thesis is to reveal gender practices in everydayness of the teachers in two kindergartens. This thesis also indicates teacher's notions of differences between girls and boys, what they consider as masculine and feminine. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on teacher's attitudes to the disruption of gender order by kindergarten children and who or what according to them enables this disruption. This thesis uses ethnographic design based on eight semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis.
